Arguments For or Against

In terms of arguments for or against, I believe many different aspects must be considered. When arguing for VAR damaging football, as mentioned throughout this documentary, you could touch on the frequency of controversies each season, how expensive it is to install making it somewhat exclusive, or something as simple as the fans' happiness when watching a game with VAR in use, as it is said to disrupt the flow of games. All of these are valid arguments for the possibility that VAR is starting to damage football.

When talking about the argument VAR damaging football, I believe that, as I've shown in this documentary, there is less substance in the arguments. For example, it does have to be said that when used correctly it can contribute to a completely fair game which means spectators cannot lay the blame on bad officiating which is often used as an excuse. It also provides insight into new types of technology that can be used in multiple sports and can also create openings for more jobs in those sports because of that.

I was able to ask 30 students on their opinions on for or against if VAR was damaging football, which they, in this diagram, gave their responses.
