Similar to Rugby, Tennis uses the same Hawkeye technology to help umpires make decisions. The only decision that umpires need to use the video referee to help make would be whether the ball is out or not. the players can dispute a decision that they think the umpire got wrong, the umpire will then be given a tablet with the footage captured by the technology.
The technology used creates visual representations of exactly where the ball landed on or past the line so there can be a decision made, there is absolutely no room for error if the technology is used as it is clear in or out decision.
