Conclusion and opinion
In conclusion, I believe that, in its current state, VAR is damaging football. However, the concept of VAR is a sound resolution to controversies in officiating. There simply needs to be an easier and more effective way of harnessing the technology used.
I also believe that the specificity of the decisions made is a harsh reality to have in football, when a player is offside by less than a toenail, for example, it feels like it takes the humanity out of the game, but, it is the correct decision at the end of the day so I think that there could be some margin maybe introduced to allow for the human aspect of the sport.
